Easter holiday getaway in North Devon

North Devon is a beautiful destination with stunning landscapes, charming villages, and a coastline that offers both rugged cliffs and sandy beaches and is the perfect place to spend time over the Easter holidays.

Come and join us at Tors Park over the Easter weekend and you’ll be welcomed with Easter Eggs in your room for kids and an Easter Egg hunt for the kids on Easter Saturday in the Tors Park Grounds.

Here’s a guide for a perfect Easter holiday getaway in North Devon by the Tors Park Team. From the beautiful beaches of Woolacombe, the quaint historic harbour of Ilfracombe to the cliff railway at Lynmouth, North Devon has something for everyone.

Day 1: Arrival at Tors Park and explore the local area.

Morning:

Lynton and Lynmouth

Visit the picturesque villages of Lynton and Lynmouth.

Take the Cliff Railway for stunning views.

Afternoon:

Hike in the Valley of the Rocks, known for its dramatic landscape.

Evening:

If the weather is clear, Exmoor National Park is a designated Dark Sky Reserve, making it perfect for stargazing.

Day 2: Coastal Adventure

Morning:

Woolacombe Beach and Ilfracombe

Choose between Woolacombe Beach, one of the finest beaches in the West Country or just 15 minutes away is Ilfracombe, with its picturesque historic harbour of quaint pastel-coloured houses.

Afternoon:

Croyde

Head to the surfing mecca of Croyde, where you can hire boards and arrange lessons.

Wonder around the unspoilt village which retains much of its original charm.

Day 3: Explore Barnstaple

Visit Barnstaple, the largest town in North Devon.

Stroll through the Pannier Market for local crafts and produce.

Explore the historic Barnstaple Castle.

Evening:

Enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants. Try some of the local seafood, a specialty of the region.

Day 4: Coastal Villages

Morning:

Porlock

Set in Porlock Vale, between the rolling hills of Exmoor and the sea lapping at the coastline, this charming village exudes character & authenticity.

Afternoon:

Dunster & Minehead

Visit two of England’s most beautiful and fascinating villages.

Evening:

Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant

Day 5: Easter Celebrations

Morning:

Join us at Tors Park for our family Easter Egg Hunt (held on Saturday 30th March)

Afternoon:

Visit RHS Garden Rosemoor for a relaxing afternoon surrounded by beautiful blooms.

Evening:

Have a farewell dinner at a cosy local restaurant, reminiscing about your North Devon adventure. (Some recommendations from the Tors Park team: Black Venus/Ancient Mariners)

Attractions

If you’re feeling brave watch out for some cold water swimming from the local beach!

Golf – ‘Hole in 1’ is the only 36-hole putting green in the South West.

Surfing – Lynmouth is now part of an official world surfing reserve

Head over to the local Gym whilst you’re here.
